Instructions

Prepare the Bananas

  • Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even slices (about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick). Thinner slices will crisp more.

Air Fryer

  • Place the banana slices in a single layer on the air fryer tray or basket. Ensure they don't overlap.
  • Set the air fryer to 250°F (120°C).
  • Air fry for 45-60 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through. Check frequently towards the end to prevent burning. They should be dry and slightly crispy.
  • Allow the chips to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Oven Baked

  • Set the oven to 225°F (110°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Lay the banana slices in a single layer without overlapping.
  • Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the slices halfway through.
  • Check frequently during the last 30 minutes to avoid overcooking. The chips should be dry and slightly crispy.
  • Let the chips cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

The number of servings depends on the size of your dog and how many banana chips you plan to give as a treat. Generally, 2 medium bananas yield about 20–30 chips, which can be divided into 10–15 servings for a small dog to medium-sized dog.
For larger dogs, a serving might be more substantial, so you may get around 5–8 servings. Always give treats in moderation, keeping them to about 10% of your dog’s daily caloric intake.
