Instructions

  • Wash the chicken feet thoroughly, trimming the nails if you haven’t already. Chop the celery and carrot into chunks. Peel and slice the ginger.
  • In a large pot add the chicken feet and water and bring to the boil.
  • Add the chopped vegetables, ginger, turmeric, apple cider vinegar and black pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 6–8 hours.

Slow Cooker Instructions

  • In a slow cooker, add chicken feet, chopped vegetables, ginger, turmeric, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and water.
  • Set to low and cook for 12–24 hours.

Instant Pot Instructions

  • Pressure cook for 2 hours, then natural release.

Strain

  • Let the broth cool slightly. Strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Discard solids (bones should not be given to your dog after cooking, as they become brittle).

Cool and Store

  • Let cool completely before storing. Refrigerate in sealed jars for up to 5 days, or freeze in silicone molds or ice cube trays for up to 3 months.
