Ingredients

  • 7.5 oz sardines in water 2 cans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  • Drain the sardines well and gently pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture (this helps them get crispy).
  • Break or cut them in half, or into smaller pieces for smaller dogs.
  • Arrange sardines in a single layer on the baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Bake until they’re crispy and golden on the edges.
  • Cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Makes 8 servings, with one serving being half a sardine.
Tips:
  • For smaller dogs or training treats, cut sardines into bite-sized pieces before baking.
  • Want extra crisp? Leave them in the oven with the door slightly ajar for 10 minutes after turning the oven off.
General Serving Suggestion:
  • Small dogs: 1–2 small pieces
  • Medium dogs: 1–2 whole or half sardines
  • Large dogs: 2–3 sardines or several pieces
