These homemade dog-friendly mince pies are the perfect holiday treat for your furry friend! Made with oat flour, apples, cranberries, and ground beef, they’re a wholesome, festive snack. Easy to prepare and packed with dog-safe ingredients, they’ll make tails wag this season!
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with silicone cases or grease well with coconut oil.
Make the Pastry
Add the oat flour, apple sauce, egg and coconut oil in a large mixing bowl. Work together to make a dough. If the dough is too dry, add a small amount of water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it comes together.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut into circles to fit your muffin tin or into shapes for a free-form style.
Prepare the Filling
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the coconut oil.
Sauté the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
Stir in the cinnamon, ginger, chopped apples, and cranberries. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the apples soften slightly.
Cool slightly and spoon the mixture into a food processor and blend until smooth.
Assemble the Mince Pies
Place the pastry circles in the muffin tin or press the pastry into the tin.
Fill each pastry with a spoonful of the beef mixture. If desired, top with a small pastry shape for decoration.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and firm to the touch.
Let the mince pies cool completely before serving to your dog. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
