Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease with a bit of coconut oil or olive oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the canned salmon (including the liquid), sweet potato purée, applesauce and egg. Mix well to break up the salmon and combine everything evenly.
  • Gradually mix in the oat flour, stirring until a thick batter forms. If the batter feels too dry, add a spoonful of water or a little more applesauce. If it's too wet, add a bit more oat flour.
  • Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the tops are lightly golden.
  • Let the pupcakes cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Makes 8 pupcakes.
Optional: Top with a small dollop of plain Greek yogurt or mashed sweet potato for a dog-friendly “frosting.”
Once cooled, store the pupcakes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. They also freeze well—just wrap individually and store in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months. Defrost before serving.
