CAN DOGS EAT CANTALOUPE?

Cantaloupe melon can be enjoyed by dogs as long as the rind and seeds are removed. Full of vitamin A and beta carotene, cantaloupes are a good source of vitamins B-6 and C, fiber, folate, niacin and potassium

Feed your dog melon in moderation too just in case it upsets their stomachs.

Remember to go slowly when introducing new foods. And we recommend checking with your veterinarian first if your dog has any digestive issues or other health concerns.

WHAT INGREDIENTS YOU NEED

All you need for this frozen treat is cantaloupe melon and a dairy free yogurt.

COCONUT YOGURT FOR DOGS

For the yogurt we use a priobotic coconut yogurt that is locally made on the island. It's a vegan-friendly yogurt and has just as many healthy, gut biome-supporting probiotics as natural dairy yogurt.

HOW TO MAKE FROZEN CANTALOUPE DOG TREATS

We use a silicone mold to make these homemade frozen dog treats but you could use an ice tray or even a popsicle mold.

SUBSTITUTIONS

The coconut yogurt could be replaced with Greek Yoghurt or natural yogurt. Check the labels for hidden sugars though.

Any other melon can be used, just remove the seeds and rind. Only use the melon flesh.

FROZEN DOG TREATS STORAGE

Once the dog treats have frozen, pop them out of their molds and keep them in a zip lock bag in the freezer. They will last up to 3 months in the freezer.
