Why Your Dog Will Love This Recipe
This was a surprise success from all of my dogs, even the one who is not the biggest fan of veggies! They’re a great healthy snack for dogs who love that crunchy bite without extra calories. A splash of olive oil adds healthy fats that support your dog’s skin and coat. Put together, they feel indulgent but are actually healthy.
Whether you use them as training rewards, a mid-day snack, or a healthy alternative to store-bought treats, your pup will be wagging their tail for more!

Ingredients
Just a bunch of green beans and a dash of oil is all you need to make these homemade crunchy treats. Feel free to add a dash of dog friendly seasoning too.

Seasoning Suggestions
While green beans are tasty on their own, you can safely add a little extra flavor with dog-friendly seasonings:
- Parsley: Fresh or dried parsley adds a mild, fresh taste and can help freshen your pupโs breath.
- Turmeric: Just a light sprinkle offers anti-inflammatory benefits and a golden color.
- Rosemary: Dried rosemary is safe in small amounts and brings a savory, earthy flavor.
How To Make Green Bean Dog Treats
We made these in the air fryer but they can be made in the oven or dehydrator. We have included instructions for these in the recipe card below.

Toss the trimmed green beans in olive oil.

Add to the air fryer and cook until crispy.
Recipe Tips
- Use fresh or frozen green beans (just avoid canned ones, as they often contain salt).
- For extra flavor, toss the beans with a pinch of dog-safe herbs like parsley or dried rosemary before baking.
- If your pup prefers softer treats, reduce the cooking time so the beans are tender instead of crunchy.
- Add chopped green bean crunchies for a meal topper.
Storage
Let them cool, then store these green bean treats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze them for up to two months. Just thaw before serving, or enjoy them frozen for a refreshing summer snack.
