Why Your Dog Will Love These Treats

Dogs go crazy for cheese, and when you pair that rich, savory flavor with nutrient-packed broccoli, you’ve got a winning combo. The soft, chewy texture makes these treats easy to eatโ€”great for pups of all ages. Plus, theyโ€™re free from artificial preservatives, fillers and grains that can upset sensitive stomachs.

Ingredients

Just 4 ingredients make these homemade dog treats.

Four labeled ingredients on a marble surface: cooked broccoli, a whole egg, grated cheddar cheese, and coconut flour.
  • Broccoli – Broccoli is a dog-safe vegetable rich in fiber, vitamins K and C, and antioxidants. It supports your dogโ€™s immune system and promotes healthy digestion. Make sure itโ€™s cooked and chopped finely for easy mixing and safe chewing.
  • Cheddar cheese – Cheese adds irresistible flavor and a boost of protein and calcium. Opt for a mild cheddar and use in moderation to keep the fat content balanced.
  • Eggs – Eggs help bind the ingredients together and are a great source of protein and healthy fats. They also support a shiny coat and healthy skin.
  • Coconut flour – A low-carb, gluten-free alternative to wheat flour thatโ€™s perfect for dogs with grain sensitivities. Coconut flour is high in fiber and helps give the treats structure without unnecessary carbs. This can be substituted with other dog friendly flours but the volume will need to be increased.

Recipe Tips

  • If the dough feels too dry, add a splash of water or an extra egg. I though one egg would work, as per the ingredient photos but added another egg when mixing!
  • Use a mini cookie scoop or silicone treat mold for even-sized portions.
  • Want to switch it up? Add a pinch of turmeric or parsley for an extra health boost.
  • Always let treats cool fully before storing to prevent condensation and mold.

Storage

Store these treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. They may soften after a day but are still edible. Who’s dog returns a snack because it’s not crunchy? Well, perhaps our Pixie….

For longer storage, freeze them in a zip-top bag for up to 3 months. Just thaw a few at a time before treating your pup.
