Easter Cookies For Dogs
This Easter, donโt let the family fun stop at the Easter egg huntโtreat your furry friend to a batch of homemade Easter cookies for dogs! Made with wholesome, dog-safe ingredients, these cookies are the perfect way to include your pup in the holiday celebrations.
These treats are soft, flavorful, and filled with natural goodness from ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Oat flour provides a gentle, gluten-free base that’s easy on sensitive stomachs. Grated carrots and apples add a touch of sweetness along with a boost of fiber and vitamins. An egg helps bind everything together while giving a little protein power, and a spoonful of coconut oil adds healthy fats to support your dogโs skin and coat.

Why Your Dog Will Love These Cookies
Naturally Sweet and Satisfying: Dogs are naturally drawn to the sweetness of apples and carrots. These cookies offer a delicious flavor combo without any added sugar.
Crunchy on the Outside, Soft on the Inside: Depending on how long you bake them, they can have a lightly crisp edge with a tender centerโgreat for keeping treat time exciting.
Made with Love (and No Junk): No preservatives, artificial flavors, or mystery ingredientsโjust clean, healthy food straight from your kitchen.
Aromatics That Entice: Coconut oil and apple together create a warm, sweet aroma while baking thatโs super appealing to dogs (and smells great in your home too).
Perfect for Picky Eaters: Even fussy pups tend to enjoy the mild, slightly sweet taste of apples and carrots.
Gentle on Sensitive Stomachs: Oat flour is a great alternative to wheat and can be easier to digest for dogs with food sensitivities.

Ingredients
Just 5 ingredients make these tasty dog cookies.

- Oat Flour – A gentle, gluten-free flour thatโs easy on digestion and full of fiber. It helps create a soft texture and is ideal for dogs with wheat sensitivities. Other dog friendly flours can be substituted. We made another batch using coconut flour which the dogs loved.
- Grated Carrot – Naturally sweet and crunchy, carrots are packed with beta-carotene (great for vision and immune health), plus vitamins A and K.
- Grated Apple – Apples add a light sweetness dogs love, along with fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. (Just be sure to core and deseed them first!)
- Egg – Eggs help bind the ingredients together and provide a boost of protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins like B12 and riboflavin.
- Coconut Oil – A nourishing fat source that supports your dogโs skin and coat health. It also gives the cookies a subtle aroma and extra moisture.
- Optional Frosting – We used a blend of Greek yogurt, crushed raspberries and a dash of coconut oil for the frosting.
How To Make Easter Cookies For Dogs

Mix apple, carrot and flour together.

Bind the mixture with the egg and coconut oil

Form into a dough.

Roll out the dough between two pieces of parchment paper.
Rabbit Cookie Cutter Trick
If like me, you don’t have bunny cookie cutters to hand you can fashion a bunny shape with a heart and a circle shape. Below is my attempt at it!

Cut out shapes with heart and circle cookie cutters.

Split the heart shape into two.

Press the ears onto the circle and give it a bit of a squeeze to shape the face.
Coconut Flour Dog Easter Cookies
We made a batch of these cookies with coconut flour and shaped them into eggs. The ingredients are the same as the batch with the oat flour (with the flour swap) but we found they took longer to cook.

Roll all ingredients into a dough. The dough was a brighter color due to less flour being used.

Shape or cut out the cookies and bake for 30 – 35 minutes.
Recipe Tips
๐พ Grate Finely for Easy Mixing
Use the fine side of your grater for the carrots and appleโthis helps everything blend more evenly into the dough and makes it easier to form cookie shapes.
๐พ Chill the Dough if Sticky
If your dough feels too sticky to roll or shape, pop it in the fridge for 15โ20 minutes. This makes it easier to handle and helps the cookies hold their shape better when baking.
๐พ Ice The Cookies
Make dog friendly cookie icing with Greek yogurt. Add color using crushed raspberries for pink, turmeric for yellow and blue spirulina for blue. TIP – The cookies will soften when stored when iced.
๐พ Use Cookie Cutters for a Festive Touch
Make the treats extra fun with Easter-themed cookie cutters like bunnies, eggs, or paws. Your pup wonโt know the difference, but it makes for adorable photos!
๐พ Adjust Bake Time for Texture
Bake a little longer for crunchier cookies, or slightly less for a softer biteโjust make sure theyโre fully cooked through.
๐พ Add a Sprinkle of Cinnamon (Optional)
A small pinch of cinnamon is safe for most dogs and adds a warm flavor twist that pairs nicely with the apple and carrot. (Avoid nutmegโitโs toxic to dogs.)
๐พ Make Them Mini
For small dogs or training treats, scoop or cut the dough into tiny bite-sized cookies. Youโll get more out of each batch, too!

Storage
Keep the cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to 2 monthsโjust thaw before serving.
