Frozen Strawberry Dog Treats

These easy frozen strawberry dog treats are made with just two ingredients. Strawberries and yogurt make a great healthy summer dog treat.

When it’s a hot day, dogs enjoy a cold treat too. Most love the flavour of strawberries too. Our dogs go crazy for these and they don’t have chance to melt in our hot sun!

Are strawberries good for dogs?

Strawberries are a great fruit for dogs. A great source of vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants these sweet red berries should be given in moderation as with any fruit for dogs.

Ingredients

This easy dog treat recipe uses fresh strawberries but you could use frozen. For the yogurt natural plain yogurt is used. We’ve made a batch with live coconut yogurt which the dogs loved.

  • Greek Yogurt – plain low carb Greek yogurt.

How to make frozen strawberry dog treats

For the frozen dog treat molds we use a mixture. Some were made into strawberry pupsicles, the others used paw shape silicone molds.

Blitz until smooth.

Pour into silicone molds or ice cube trays and freeze.

How many frozen dog treats can they have daily?

It will depend upon the size of the frozen treat but no more than 2 a day should be given. They are a treat, not a meal.

How long will the treats last in the freezer?

To store these strawberry treat, pop them out of their molds and put them in a zip lock bag. It makes better space for the freezer and you have a bag of treats in the freezer for the dogs. They should last for 2 months.

Recipe Tips

Swap the strawberries with other berries. The quantity of the yogurt will need to be reduced if you are using a smaller berry.

Place the frozen treat molds on a flat surface in the freezer for even freezing.

  • Spoon the mixture into frozen dog treat molds.
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours
