You could enjoy these pancakes yourself and perhaps share a few over a brunch! My dogs went crazy for these and I think it might have been the smell of cooked banana.

Can Dogs Eat Pancakes?

Although dogs can eat pancakes for humans, there could be a few ingredients in them that are unsuitable for dogs. You don’t want to be feeding your dog sugar, white flour or baking powder.

It’s easier to make your own pup friendly pancakes with just a couple of dog-friendly ingredients.

Dog Pancakes Ingredients

We are sharing 2 dog pancake recipes with a slight variation on the base of banana and egg.

2 ingredient pancakes

This is a basic 2 ingredient pancake with the cinnamon being optional. We add the cinnamon for it’s anti-inflammatory properties.

More Dog Pancake Ingredients

This is a firmer pancake with the addition of peanut butter and ground flaxseed.

  • The ground flaxseed could be replaced with almond flour or coconut flour.
  • Ensure that the peanut butter is sugar free and has no Xylitol.Vr Check the label or make your own.

How to Make Dog Pancakes

This is a quick and easy recipe with the ingredients being processed in a blender, then cooked. To cook an even shape we used a Dash mini pancake maker but you could make these on the stove top too.

Storage

The dog pancakes can be made ahead, and stored in the fridge for later. Reheat them until they are slightly warm before serving them. They are best fresh but will keep in the fridge for a couple of days if stored in an airtight container.

Serving Suggestions

Do not serve these with maple syrup as it’s not suitable for dogs. A few dog friendly ingredients to serve with these pancakes are:

  • Berries
  • Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt
  • Sliced bananas
  • A sprinkle of chia seeds
