Raspberry Oat Dog Treats
If you’re looking for a simple homemade dog treat that’s as pretty as it is delicious, these Raspberry Dog Treats are a wonderful place to start. Made with fresh raspberries, oat flour and a handful of wholesome ingredients, they’re naturally colorful and full of flavor without any artificial colors or preservatives.
When these were baking, the kitchen filled with the sweet aroma of fresh raspberries and oats. I was tempted to taste one myself (but not a fan of oat cookies). Thankfully, Teddy, the chief taste tester was more than happy to give them a paws-up.

Are Raspberries Safe for Dogs?
Yes—fresh raspberries are safe for most dogs when fed in moderation.
They’re naturally low in calories and contain fibre, vitamin C, vitamin K and antioxidants that help protect cells from everyday damage. Like many fruits, raspberries also provide water, making them a refreshing ingredient during warmer months.
Because raspberries contain natural sugars they should always be offered as an occasional treat rather than a large part of your dog’s diet. Fortunately, the quantity used in this recipe is small and spread throughout the whole batch.
If your dog has never eaten raspberries before, introduce them gradually and watch for any digestive upset.

Why Your Dog Will Love These Treats
These homemade raspberry dog treats combine a lightly fruity flavour with the comforting taste of oats, creating a biscuit that’s both wholesome and satisfying. Their heart shape makes them feel a little extra special, whether you’re celebrating an occasion or simply rewarding your dog after a walk. Best of all, they’re made from simple ingredients you can recognise, giving you complete control over what goes into every bite
Ingredients

Fresh Raspberries – The star ingredient. They provide natural sweetness, beautiful colour and antioxidants.
Oat Flour – A gentle, gluten-free flour that creates a lovely biscuit texture while being easy for many dogs to digest. Make your own by grinding rolled oats in a food processor until you have a fine flour.
Egg – Helps bind everything together while adding high-quality protein.
Unsweetened Apple sauce – Adds moisture and a subtle sweetness without refined sugar.
Ground Flaxseed – Adds fibre together with plant-based omega-3 fatty acids.
How To Make Raspberry Oat Dog Treats
When we came to cut these dog treats out we couldn’t find a heart cookie cutter, so we improvised with folded up silver foil!

Mash the raspberries, add the egg and applesauce.

Add oat flour and ground flaxseed.

Mix and form a dough.

Roll out in between layers of parchment paper.

Cut out shapes.

Place on a baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Recipe Tips
- Chill the dough for 15–20 minutes if it’s too soft to roll.
- Dust your work surface with oat flour to prevent sticking.
- Fresh raspberries work best, but thawed frozen raspberries can also be used. Drain any excess liquid first.
- Smaller treats bake more quickly, so keep an eye on them during the final few minutes.

Raspberry Dog Treat Variations

| Raspberry & Blueberry | Replace half the raspberries with fresh blueberries | Creates a mixed berry treat with extra natural color and antioxidants. |
| Raspberry & Banana | Replace the applesauce with 2 tbsp mashed ripe banana | Gives the treats a slightly sweeter flavor and softer texture. |
| Raspberry & Pumpkin | Replace the applesauce with 2 tbsp plain pumpkin purée | Adds fiber and makes a great late-summer or fall variation. |
| Raspberry & Coconut | Add 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut | Adds a little extra texture and a mild coconut flavor. |
| Raspberry & Strawberry | Replace half the raspberries with chopped or mashed strawberries | Makes a colorful double-berry dog treat that’s perfect for summer. |
