Why Your Dog Will Love These Treats

Dogs love this recipe because itโ€™s packed with real chicken flavour and a soft, meaty texture thatโ€™s easy to chew and digest. The natural sweetness from the carrot and zucchini adds extra taste without overpowering the chicken, while the egg helps create treats that feel satisfying but not dry or crumbly.

Ingredients

Just 4 natural ingredients make these homemade dog treats. Although we did not use flour, to keep these treats soft, you could add some for a firmer snack.

A package of lean ground chicken, a whole egg, a bowl of grated carrot, and a bowl of grated zucchini labeled as ingredients on a white surface.

Lean ground chicken provides a delicious source of protein that supports your dogโ€™s muscles and keeps these treats flavorful without being too fatty.

Grated zucchini adds moisture and a mild taste, helping keep the treats soft while contributing fibre for gentle digestion.

Egg acts as a natural binder, holding the ingredients together and adding extra protein and nutrients.

Grated carrot brings a touch of natural sweetness, along with fibre and vitamins, making the treats both tasty and wholesome.

Recipe Tips

Use lean ground chicken to avoid excess grease.

Grate the zucchini and carrot finely so they mix evenly and create a smoother texture thatโ€™s easier for dogs to chew.

If the mixture feels too wet, add a small spoonful of oat flour or rice flour to firm it up.

Lightly grease your baking tray or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Let the treats cool completely before serving so they set properly and are easier to handle.

Storage Tips

Store the cooled chicken treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3โ€“4 days. For longer storage, freeze the treats in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving, and always discard any treats that develop an off smell or texture.
